Looking for ways to evaluate the Chicago public school performances?


Annual Elementary School Progress Report is available in the city of Chicago's Data Portal with the purpose to deliver potential positive impact to Chicago residents, visitors, and businesses. However, finding the relevant information for a specific need can be complicated tasks when exploring the rows of data, whether you are looking for the best school for your child or trying to analyze where improvements can be made. This data visualization is powered by Tableau using data previously spreadsheet formatted will let you comprehend the open data sets and navigate information more easily. 

The visualization has several filters to interact the data you choose. The school data is categorized by CPS Performance Policy Level and is filtered by Metrics A highlighted in blue (CPS Performance Policy LevelCPS Performance Policy Status, Creative School Certification, Healthy School Certification, and Blue Ribbon Award) with NWEA Reading & Math Academic Assessment on the scatter plot graph below.  Also, this can be more specified by Metrics B highlighted in red (Safety, Quality of Facility, Ambitious Instruction, Effective Leaders, etc.) with the map.  

For more visual and active users, just hover on the graph, map or table(the name of school).  Each selection provides more details with the school website and geographic information.
